ARTIST STATEMENT

I use textile, natural dyeing and basketry techniques to construct abstract three-dimensional works that record joy, connection, safety and loss. I combine textiles that bear marks of care and memory – such as worn garments and household linens – with fibers that I naturally dye, stitch and print.

I also loop nickel, copper and aluminum wire into sculptural forms. I use these pliant metals to lend strength and form to the textile objects that I construct.
